Halfway Mark

I am at the midway point of the 25 Day Painting Challenge. Gosh! That didn't take long.

I had intended to spend about an hour a day on each portrait. In reality, I've spent the better part of a half-day on each painting. I realized quite quickly that I wanted there to be high level of quality on each one; rushing through them just didn't feel right.

I also intended to go back and forth between male and female subjects. So far, I've remained true to that aspiration. Admittedly, my female subjects seem to demand more of my time for one reason or another.

All the paintings have been available for purchase here. Originals in the 12" x 12" size are regularly priced at $450. However, for the purposes of this challenge, they have been discounted to only $300.

Net sale proceeds will be donated to the charity Bracelets For Buildings/Carpenters For Cambodia to fund all or a portion of home build in southeast Asia. The proceeds from the sale of one painting can have a tremendous impact on the lives of a family in rural Cambodia. It also makes for a great story to tell when guests ask about your special portrait.

After 13 days of paintings, can you pick a favourite? Leave a comment on this blog post with your choice.

Do I have a favourite? I feel partial to the Mel Gibson and Keanu Reeves.
