Home again, home again, jiggitty jig
Even though we only crossed one time zone on our way home from San Miguel to Okotoks, I am feeling incredibly foggy. I guess a long day of travel will do that to you. I'm having a hard time remembering what day it is, let alone all the things on my to-do list.
Our time in Mexico was precious, made possible by our friend Jerry who watched over things back at Birdsong Studio. He also took extra special care of Coco.
One thing that changed during our time down south was the fact that I started wearing my glasses all day. Having them on made a world of difference in my ability to spot the birds. Previous to this trip I would only wear my glasses for driving and for watching TV. On our first day back, I've forced myself to keep them on. The temptation to fall back into my old habit is strong.
I've spent my first day back preparing several prints and paintings to ship after our Birdsong Artist Circle auction. I made some progress and look forward to finishing it all up tomorrow. I'm excited to start painting again, but I can't comfortably do that until I get caught up on everything else.
Whenever we arrived home after a long trip, my mom would declare "Home again, home again, jiggitty jig". There was both joy and relief in that little ditty. Heather and I felt both in abundance as our friend Mark dropped us off last night.
