12 Week Coaches Challenge
I'm participating in Ideal Protein's coaches challenge. I'm going to spend four weeks in Phase 1 - weight loss, four in Phase 2 - stabilization, and four in Phase 3 - maintenance. The bonus is that I will be coached by a pro named Amanda based in Toronto.
While my ultimate goal is to get to a new low, my real motivation is rooted in becoming a better coach. Bob Boston says that "coaching is the secret sauce" to the success of Ideal Protein. There are more weight loss products and programs that you can imagine, but this one offers one on one coaching support, along with additional support from experts across the company. It is easy to lose weight when you put your mind to it. It is less easy to keep it off over the long haul.
How many times have you lost weight but found yourself back where you started or worse? Don't feel too bad or alone because all of us have been there at some time or another. Wouldn't it be great to get to a point where you only fluctuate within 5 percent of your ideal weight? It is possible.
This is Day 1 of my Phase 1 journey. I'll spend the next few days draining the sugar tank and getting my body into the state of nutritional ketosis. My energy will be up, my cravings down. And my body will begin to use my fat stores for energy. I am just under 175 pounds, which is 5 percent above my previous "ideal" weight of 167 pounds. My goal this time is to get down to 160 pounds, which will bring my body fat percentage down to a much healthier place. At my age (55), body fat accumulation can lead to health issues that I'd rather avoid, if possible.
To strengthen my abilities as an Ideal Protein coach and clinic owner, I will be attending the SUPER WEEKEND in Calgary. It is a great opportunity to convene with Ideal Protein professionals from across Canada and learn more about the protocol, the science and the products.
