Last day of auction
Rambo is sitting on the easel, next to Bernie, waiting to find out where in the world it will be heading to. It's the final day of the 21 Day Wild Colour Painting Challenge in support of Bracelets For Buildings. As of Sunday morning, we are 60-percent of the way to our goal of being able to fully fund the construction of a home for a poor family in the rural area of Cambodia, just outside the city of Siem Reap.
As I look back on the collection of 22 paintings - there is one extra because I painted Gordon Lightfoot twice on one of the days - I feel proud of the results. Most were chosen from suggestions offered by folks who follow my Facebook page. One or two were assignations with my own creative urges.
I set out to do a few different things. Primarily, I wanted to create a body of work that would generate enough sales to fund the construction of a home. Secondly, I wanted to play with my "wild colour" technique in portraiture that I was using back at the beginning of this journey. Thirdly, I was intentional about painting more women.
Jann Arden, Eric Church, Jim Cuddy and Billy Joel were all purchased using the BUY NOW price. Everything else is up for grabs with starting bid prices significantly discounted from their regular prices.
The auction ends at 9 pm MST tonight (January 24). If bids come in during the last few minutes, extended bidding goes into effect for those items. We will connect with all successful purchasers on Monday morning to arrange for payment and pick up or shipping.
Thank you for your support. The purchase of original art will fundamentally change the lives of a family overseas. You will inspire smiles, hope and a better future.
